About the Festival

Download Festival is an iconic festival that hosts rock and metal music acts from the biggest bands and up and coming artists, on the sacred grounds of Donington Park, which has been associated with rock since the 80s. From hard hitting rock music lineups to heavy metal clangers, Download has much more than just music to keep the crowd entertained. Switch from thrashing to laughing at the Side Splitter Stage hosting a rich lineup of comedy, or explore the Circus of Horrors including everything from sword swallowers, to acrobatics and circus acts.

Download Festival was first founded in 2003 and since then it has hosted acclaimed music legends and bands such as Iron Maiden, Marilyn Manson, Linkin Park, Metallica, Black Sabbath, AC DC, Rage Against The Machine, KISS and Slipknot. Avenged Sevenfold, Ozzy Osbourne, Aerosmith and Guns N’ Roses have also performed at the Donington event’s history. It has since grown to establish itself as the UK’s premier and internationally acclaimed rock music festival.
