Defqon.1 Weekend Festival, 25th - 28th June 2026

Defqon.1 was first held in 2003 and has since grown into one of the world’s most iconic harder styles festivals, bringing together thousands of Weekend Warriors each year for a four-day celebration of harder style music.

The Defqon.1 2026 Theme: Sacred Oath

In 2026, Defqon.1 welcomes thousands of Weekend Warriors back to the Holy Grounds under the theme Sacred Oath. More than just an anthem, Sacred Oath symbolizes the bond between hardstyle fans from all over the world – united by music, energy and tradition.

Created by D-Sturb ft. E-Life, the official anthem combines emotional melodies, raw power and the signature Defqon.1 atmosphere that fans return for every year.

Are There Any Defqon.1 Traditions?

One of the most iconic Defqon.1 traditions is POWER HOUR. A massive high-energy daytime show where thousands of Weekend Warriors move in sync to explosive hardstyle edits, crazy visuals and unforgettable crowd moments. For many visitors, it is one of the absolute highlights of the entire festival weekend.

By plane

The closest major airport is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, located around 1.5 hours from the festival site.

By car

Defqon.1 offers official parking areas close to the festival and camping entrances. For day visitors, Regular Parking is available via the Car Entrance. Weekend visitors staying at the campsite can also buy Priority Parking Cards, which provide parking closer to the camping areas 1-4, including The Highlands and The Sanctuary.

By shuttle bus – only for Weekend Ticket Holders

During the festival weekend, official shuttle buses operate between major Dutch transport hubs and the Holy Grounds. Most international visitors arrive via Amsterdam or Schiphol Airport before continuing to the Holy Grounds using the official Defqon.1 Shuttle Service. During the festival weekend, shuttle buses operate from major Dutch transport hubs, including Amsterdam Central Station, Utrecht Central Station, Eindhoven Central Station and Schiphol Airport.

Please note: If you are arriving by train, you can take the Shuttle Bus from Dronten Central Station. This transport option is exclusively available for Weekend Ticket holders.

National Bus Transfers – for both Weekend and Day Visitors

An eco-friendly travel option with access to the festival and/or campsite through the dedicated Bus Entrance, where queues are often significantly shorter. Enjoy a smoother and more stress-free journey to the Holy Grounds.

On Site

Defqon.1 offers a wide range of accommodation options, from traditional festival camping to premium stays with extra comfort and exclusive amenities.

Regular & Premium Camping

Visitors looking for the full camping experience can stay at the regular campgrounds or choose upgraded options such as The Highlands and The Sanctuary, which include pre-set accommodations, improved sanitary facilities, chill areas and additional premium perks.

For a more convenient setup, Defqon.1 also provides Pick-Up Packages, allowing visitors to collect pre-arranged tents and camping gear directly at the festival grounds without bringing their own equipment.

Friends Camp

Groups of friends can book a Friends Camp (for groups of 10 to 50 people), giving Weekend Warriors a reserved camping area to stay together throughout the festival weekend.

Cottages and Apartments

For visitors who prefer extra comfort, Defqon.1 also offers cottages and apartments for groups of 2 to 16 people, including shuttle transport to the Holy Grounds.

Hotel Accommodations

Those who do not want to camp can choose from several hotel packages, including hotels near the festival grounds or in Amsterdam, with transfer services included on selected days.

Visitors who prefer not to camp can stay at one of the official Defqon.1 partner hotels or choose their own accommodation nearby.

Visitors can choose from a wide variety of food stands offering Asian dishes, fish and chips, burgers, sandwiches, fries, pasta dishes, pancakes, smoothies and other quick grab-and-go festival snacks. Breakfast options, including regular and vegetarian meals, are also available at the campsite during the morning hours.

The festival grounds usually also feature a small convenience store with basic essentials.
