Paaspop Festival 2026 Recap
Paaspop Festival 2026 promised “The Greatest Show on Earth” – and it absolutely delivered. Traditionally held during the Easter weekend from April 3 to April 5, 2026, in Schijndel in the south of the Netherlands, this year’s edition more than lived up to its bold claim.
Paaspop 2026 was a legendary, sunny, and incredibly dynamic edition, unfolding at record speed over three days and nights, with more than 350 performances across 16 stages. The Paradise City camping area was completely sold out, hosting wild after-parties that kept the festival energy alive.
Friday
Suzan & Freek, the tight-knit Dutch duo, ignited a feel-good vibe among the crowd with their undeniable chemistry. Amid this wave of emotion, Cian Ducrot took over the Apollo stage with his beautiful voice and heartfelt ballads. The atmosphere in The Desperados Warehouse was scorching. The party was insane and loud enough to be heard from afar. Triggerfinger, the renowned Belgian rock band, delivered a truly energetic concert at Phoenix Stage that got everyone moving.
Saturday
On Saturday, the Apollo stage opened in surf-pop style with the Beach Boys’ Best tribute band, while at 2 PM on the Phoenix stage, Joshua Peter performed his first official single, Bones. A big surprise at Casa Bacardi was Ronnie Flex, one of the biggest names in Dutch hip-hop and pop – known for hits like Drank & Drugs, which topped the Dutch charts and became one of his signature tracks.
Later Saturday afternoon, melodic singing and rap by Jonna Fraser kept the crowd energized. On the Theatre stage, young talent Samuel Welten spread love through music he has been passionate about since childhood. In The Desperados Warehouse, Poke and Freddy Moreira got the crowd moving like never before.
Sunday
Easter Sunday has never felt so good! Antoon hit the Apollo stage with raw authenticity, while rapper Boef thrilled the audience with his massive hits. Rockers DI-RECT also took the stage, and Scooter left an unforgettable mark on the festival with their explosive Hyper, hyper! energy.
For those lucky enough, the Bacardi and Coca-Cola train ran perfectly on time, while Brand – limited edition – beer and Heineken flowed in streams. The festival offered active morning starts with basketball games, training sessions, and protein shakes to kick off the day.
From 2026 to 2027: The Countdown to Paaspop’s 50th Begins!
Paaspop 2026 featured the largest lineup to date, from pop icons and bands to urban acts and powerhouse DJs, across 16 stages – a legendary, sunny edition that will be remembered for years. The festival has a long history that dates back to 1974. Today it is widely considered the opening event of the European spring festival season (paas = Easter; pop = popular music). Few festivals achieve such a prestigious milestone, and next year, in 2027, Paaspop will celebrate its 50th anniversary from March 26-28. Ticket sales have already begun!

Festival Music Styles
Although the festival name includes “pop”, it is not limited to that genre. The Paaspop Festival 2026 lineup features artists representing many styles.
- pop
- rock/indie rock
- punk/alternative
- electronic (techno, house, drum & bass, hard dance)
- hip-hop/rap
- metal/folk metal
- ska/reggae
- party/dance pop
As a result, visitors can expect high-quality performances and a unique festival atmosphere. All you need is a ticket, a great festival outfit, and a few practical festival accessories.
Festival Stages
For better orientation, here is a selection of stages where the performers will appear.
- Apollo: The main stage and the largest freestanding festival tent in the world. It can host up to 21,000 visitors. Major Dutch and international artists perform here.
- Phoenix: The second-largest stage, featuring electronic and alternative music. It accommodates around 8,000 visitors.
At such large gatherings, it is wise to protect personal belongings. Small accessories with hidden storage can be useful for keeping valuables safe. For example, a car key with a hidden compartment or a screw-cap keychain works well.
- Roxy: A place dedicated to hip-hop, urban music, and R&B.
- The Desperados Warehouse: A wild club-style space with a powerful sound system. Expect hardstyle, EDM, hip-hop, and high-energy bass.
To enjoy a party like the one at The Desperados Warehouse, preparation helps. Long-time visitors often choose Desperados beer, while others prefer a Carlsberg with a twist.
- Theater: An impressively decorated stage for cabaret, comedy, theater, and music. In other words, a true performance show.
- Dolle Mina: A relaxed bar-style venue featuring Dutch party music and the traditional levenslied genre.
- Oase: A stage for smaller live bands and relaxed music. It also features a rooftop lounge overlooking the festival grounds.
During long festival days, a hairbrush with a built-in compartment becomes practical. It lets you fix your hair while keeping small personal items safe.
- The Little Theatre: A brand-new nightclub called Velvet Vice Club awaits visitors. Expect burlesque, an extravagant host, pole dancing, fashion, circus acts, cabaret, and comedy.
- The Shelter: A stage for energetic rock shows with punk, alternative, and indie influences.
- Thunderbolt: A rock sanctuary for bikers and fans of bottled beer and hard rock bands.
- The Social Club: A stage filled with Balkan rhythms, folk sounds, and humorous music and dance performances.
Additional Festival Areas
In addition, the Paaspop festival layout includes many smaller stages and hostings along the festival streets. Because of the festival’s size, visitors walk several kilometers each day. Comfortable footwear is therefore essential. Likewise, daytime sun protection such as a snapback cap is highly recommended.
No Loco Royale in 2026 – Here’s Why It Was Special
Unfortunately, Loco Royale wasn’t part of Paaspop in 2026. However, it was truly something special, with a completely different vibe compared to the main stages. It offered a more intimate space, creating a strong contrast to the larger areas. In fact, it felt like a hidden “sanctuary” within the festival. The venue hosted cabaret and burlesque performances, and performers often interacted directly with the audience. As a result, the experience felt immersive and unique. That said, Paaspop slightly changes its concept every year to stay fresh, so we might see a similarly wild and creative space return in the future.
