Discover the Essence: What the Festival is All About
World Club Dome (WCD) is Germany’s top-ranking electronic music festival, held annually at Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park since 2013. Known as the “biggest club in the world,” it spans 700,000 m² and transforms into a three-day party with 180,000 expected World Clubbers across more than 25 stages. The 2025 edition’s theme is called Moon Edition to honor our timeless curiosity and to highlight the festival’s ongoing collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA).
🌱 Where It All Began: The Roots of World Club Dome Festival
World Club Dome Festival began on June 9, 2013, as BigCityBeats World Music Dome, celebrating a radio station anniversary with 25,000 fans and 100 DJs. By 2015, it expanded to a three-day event with 14 stages. In 2016, it introduced camping and pool areas, drawing 120,000 attendees. The festival announced global expansion in 2016, including a South Korea edition. Each year has featured bold themes, growing it into one of Europe’s top electronic music festivals.
🎵 The Sound of Space Unfolding
Techno? Check. Trance? Of course. Hardstyle, hip-hop, rap, future-bass, minimal, hardcore? All aboard. At BigCityBeats, the organizer and creative force behind World Club Dome, genres don’t matter — if it bangs, it belongs. It’s not about fitting in a box, it’s about blowing the lid off it.
🚀 Launching the Moon Edition: Where Music Meets the Cosmos
This year’s theme Moon Edition builds upon previous space-related initiatives, such as the first DJ set in space by ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano, who performed a 12-minute DJ set from orbit, and the Space Club Kitchen event on the International Space Station. The Moon Edition promises to blend music, technology, and space exploration, offering attendees a unique experience that blends music with the Moon’s significance in both science and culture.
